Who we are
A history spanning over 300 years.
Located at the entrance to the historic center of medieval Gaeta, on the slopes of the Temple of San Francesco, the Convent was the home of Andrea del Sole who, in 1720, left a legacy to the Bishop of Gaeta to create a retreat for damsels.
Subsequently, the Cloistered Nuns (Mantellate) were welcomed into the building and gave rise to the aforementioned retreat for damsels belonging to the nobility and the Officers of the Military Garrison.
Culture & History
With King Ferdinand II of Bourbon, the convent and the church attached to it underwent a radical restoration in neoclassical style.
In 1905, the entire complex was purchased and managed impeccably by the CAE nuns who will then hand it over, in 2022, to Anna and Antonio who will have a difficult task: the one of telling and preserving the history of this residence between innovation and the future.
Palazzo Nari
Today
The former convent, immersed in a prestigious historical context next to the Golden Chapel and the Church of the Annunziata, currently boasts 10 rooms, a ceremonies hall and multiple conference rooms, a contemporary art gallery and a historic cloister - flagship of the structure. Divided into four levels, the space is naturally designed to respond to the dual concept of relaxation: the physical one, thanks to the solarium in which to recharge with vitamin D, and the mental one, where the key word is silence.
A silence made of confidentiality, introspection, quiet and emotions; the ones you will come across while reading a book comfortably seated under the blue sky or under the starry Gaeta nights.
